Antonio Prohias El Mundo (Havana) Editorial Cartoon art, pre-Spy vs. Spy (Govin Publ., 1959). A pivotal image in Prohias' transition from president of the Cuban Cartoonists Association to a star player at MAD. Hailed at first by revolutionist Fidel Castro for his digs at Cuba's previous regime, Prohias soon fell into disfavor for his criticisms of the new dictator's abuses. This example shows Castro's "new" Cuba as a pawn of Communist Russia and Nikita Khrushchev' Art Image area only is 12" x 16" - with larger borders on the Bristol board.
