Uncle Scrooge the Lemonade King Signed by Carl Barks (Whitman, 1960)
The name "Carl Barks" is widely known today, at least among serious fans of Walt Disney's Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge, but back in 1957, there was only one fan who knew the identity of the "Good Duck Artist" -- Malcolm Willits. Mr. Willits wrote to Walt Disney Productions, and received a letter back, dated November 6, 1957, that revealed the name for the first time. A few years later, in 1960, the Disney company finally allowed Barks a credit line -- as co-artist (with Norm McGary) on this small children's story book, The Lemonade King
