DeCARLO, DAN - Josie Daily, final design as short-haired with TM bow on head - 1959

After two prototype attempts as a freckled bobbed Blond (Buzz and Bunny and then Josie and Kenny). That version looked less like a teen and more like Dan's later character- Sabrina. This is Dan's creator-owned Josie comic sample strip artwork. Josie has here trade-mark hair and top of head bow. The back of the Art has Archie publisher's address - so, it is likely one of the art pieces pitched to make her first published comic book for Archie - She's Josie #1 December 10, 1962;
