Richard F. Outcault Buster Brown Voting Illustration Original Art (1904). Buster Brown is encouraging everyone to get out the vote on this wonderful large panel illustration ala his "Resolved" last-panel of his regular Buster Brown feature. His comic strip was only in its second year. The panel was created in ink and watercolor on 9.5" x 10.75" Bristol board. Signed in the image area, and also personalized and dated 8-8-1905 that has faded. The central artwork is amazingly framed with Buster Brown collectibles that have been displayed by Dan Makara to create a fabulous frame to house this beauty! The artwork is set in a special mat that is covered with vintage post cards, valentine's cards, newspaper clippings, and other Buster Brown ephemera. This is in turn set with a Plexiglas front into a wooden frame with Buster Brown pinback buttons, and a Buster Brown belt buckle in the lower center. There are 11 buttons, each different. One of them is a "Buster Brown Blue Ribbon Shoes" pin, and the other 10 are all "Buster Brown Hose Supporter" buttons. The Hake's Price Guide to Pop Culture Memorabilia says that these pinbacks are worth approximately $20 each in Good condition. The belt buckle is not listed. Excellent condition, affixed to the frame.
