Hal Forrest Tailspin Tommy Hand-Colored Sunday Comic Strip #22 - 1930 Images size is 22" x 28.25" Tailspin Tommy was the first comic strip to cash in on America's obsession with aviation in the early part of the 20th century, thanks to Charles Lindbergh. This story shows Tommy meeting one of his idols, Inspector McDowall of the RCMP who hires the pilot to ferry him to his ranch in the Canadian wilderness. Hal Forrest ink line work has been enhanced with hand painted watercolors by Forrest. Jerry Weist's Comic Art Price Guide notes, "Only the first 150 Sunday pages are hand-colored by creator Hal Forrest."
