Mad Magazine (1955 Magazine #24 On) #24 Published Jun 1955 by EC

BIND-AIG (Ad Parody) MAD #24 (Inside back cover.) Large size art on craftint board: 17" x 22" Published by William Gaines and edited by Harvey Kurtzman, Mad Magazine #24 begins a new era, parodying various elements of life, including popular culture. Previously, Mad was a comic book. This issue features contributions by Jack Davis, Ernie Kovacs, Wallace Wood, Will Elder, and others. Parodied subjects include wrestling, space travel, Bufferin, and the TV show This is Your Life.

Will (Bill) Elder was the penciler and inker on this humorous ad. Harvey Kurtzman wrote the script and laid out this phony ad for BIND-AIG "Super Sticky" bandages, one page, back inside cover. This is the original painting of the ad. MAD issue #24 was the first 25 cent magazine issue with all black & white interior pages. The three areas of original MAD art are painted on the illustration board. There is a mylar overlay on the "BIND-AIG" box with the lettering. The matte was placed over that. The stats with the lettering were then glued to the matte.
