EISNER, WILL - Spirit "The Underground" #1 one page story, final Spirit Sunday "legalize crime committee"

Media Type: Pen and Ink
Art Type: Splash Page
Artists: Will Eisner All

Will Eisner The (Underground) Spirit #1 1-Page Story "The Spirit in 'Last Straw'"
Original Art (Kitchen Sink Press, 1972).
Some scruffy-looking counter-culture types present their solution to help the "National Law & Order Committee," in this beautifully-drawn page, done in ink and grey wash on illustration board. This Nixon-era commentary was one of four new pages Will Eisner created as he reemerged from corporate publishing, introducing The Spirit to a new generation. It also marks more than the return of a classic character, as some observers (like The Comic Reader) proclaim this issue to be "the first direct market comic book," sparking the modern comics industry we take for granted today.
The art is in Excellent condition.
