A rare example of Tracy face to face with one of his first Rogues Gallery villains!
After being gassed by Karpse, Tracy is temporally blinded and recuperating in a hospital. Karpse, AKA "Blaine", also went underground as a baker "Janings" and by fate gets burned in an accident, then brought the same Hospital floor as Tracy.
On this Sunday episode, the horrendous villain visits his unsuspecting neighbor / patient, Dick Tracy. With eye bandages in place, Tracy talks over the case, even naming Karpse as a "Super-Criminal" with his manufacture and sale of poison gas to a hostile foreign power. Without realizing the identity of the criminal he is dialoging with, he gives "Janings" details about his case, including handing him a police sketch with his own evil likeness, which Karpse burns in the last panel...destroying this crucial evidence!
This large, full tab Sunday has the long top title panel plus 12 story panels with art extensions on each lower section. All were attached attached by the syndicate to a single, larger art board with the 1938 date hand-written at the top and bottom border and contemporary production date stamp in right border.
