McKONE, MIKE - Marvel & George Romero's Empire of the Dead, Act Two #1 painted cover, Spider-Man. Homage to Dawn of the Dead movie poster - now AMC TV series

Empire of the Dead Heading to TV..... Variety magazine announced that Marvel’s Empire of the Dead comic has been signed into a deal with AMC for a TV series. Empire brings together the godfather of zombie movies, George E. Romero ( Night of the Living Dead ) and cover artist “Zombie King” Arthur Suydam ( Marvel Zombies , The Walking Dead , Army of Darkness )...... Romero’s Night of the Living Dead ushered in the first of several terrifying zombie movies and Suydam became the go-to artist for Marvel Zombies titles, starting in 2004. Based on the original comic series, the Empire of the Dead TV show will be set in New York City years after a zombie apocalypse. As if things weren’t bad enough, a new monster force has appeared in the form of vampires.
The series will be executive produced by writing partners Romero and Peter Grunwald, along with Demarest executive producer Sam Englebardt and William D. Johnson. The show is set to air in August.
