"Topsy Turvy Day in Midway City"
A series of strange events are caused by some unknown force, and allows criminals to rob even the most time sensitive safes across the city. Meanwhile, Mavis Trent has returned to the Midway Museum after seeing her hairdresser and accidentally stumbles upon Hawkman and Hawkgirl's secret room. Finding a spare Hawkgirl costume inside, Mavis tries it on. She's startled when Hawkman suddenly appears telling "Hawkgirl" to go into action, and Mavis decides to pretend to be Hawkgirl so she can spend more time next to Hawkman.
Mavis almost blows her cover trying to figure out how Hawkgirl's wings work, however suspicion is allayed when Hawkman hears a radio report about the malfunctioning electronic devices. Meanwhile, the real Hawkgirl has returned to the museum and dawned her costume to go out and find her husband. What she finds instead is the "other" Hawkgirl.
Meanwhile, Hawkman has tracked the crooks down to their hideout, where he finds that they've used a magnetic device to make machines in the city go haywire. Hawkman makes short work of the crooks and turns them over to the authorities. On his way back he finds the two Hawkgirl's and Mavis' ruse is revealed. When she begins asking all sorts of question as to the relationship between Hawkman and Hawkgirl, Hawkman (to cover for their civilian identities on Earth) tells Mavis to go and ask the Commissioner.
When she does so, she asks George Emmett if Hawkman and Hawkgirl are husband and wife, all he tells her is that Hawkgirl is not legally entitled to wear a wedding ring. To Mavis, this makes her believe that Hawkman is an eligible bachelor, however what she doesn't know is that on Thanagar, the custom is that someones wife wears special earrings, not a wedding ring like on Earth.
