Story was delayed and then after over 30 pages were penciled by Ploog, he left the project and Marvel because of the new 1978 Work for Hire contract.
So the story was advertised for for Marvel Preview #16 with Mike Golden as artist. Finally, the story based on the first part of the story by Ploog, John Buscema and Rudy Nebres did the three-part Weird World story as "Warriors of the Shadow Realm" in Marvel Super Special #11–13 (Spring–Fall 1979). This early page of the Ploog story was redrawn by John.
